First post for 2017!

Here I am again, struggling to keep up with life. Now stepping into the month of July, only meant that 6 months just flew by. Every single weekend I yearn to have more time to be able to sit by my craftspace and just get my fingers dirty. Well, looking at the positive side of things, I am sitting here writing this blogpost today meant, yeay! I manage to create something this weekend.

So without further adieu, I would like to share 2 layouts I made for my sister who recently got hitched. :) It was such a beautiful wedding. I truly wish them all the happiness in the world.

I finally used my Crate Paper stash which I had been hoarding for some time now. Aren't the Flower accents & Vellum sentiments so very pretty! I also recently bought a Modelling Paste from Teresa Collins and it was so much fun playing with it. What have I been missing out for so long! It definitely help create texture to the layout. Here I created a brick wall mask using my silhouette and wala! This is the out come.

I also did some splatters with gelato from Faber Castell and Color Shine from Heidi Swapp. Here I used Gold & Mint Green Color Shine to create some splatters.

And of course the final outcome...

Next up, I created a rather monochromatic layout with only hues of blue, white and black. All materials from Felicity Jane. Lots of fussy cutting from one of the Patterned paper from London Kit & Ombre background paper was from Happy Day (Suse Fish) kit.

So There you go. I don't know if there is anyone still reading my blog :) but I hope if you are reading this, you enjoyed my work and it helps inspire you to create something too! Thank you for dropping by. - Yours Truly.

Jot Magazine - November Moodboard 2016

I am still on cloud 9 on the positive response I received for my previous layout. If you enjoy crafting, you would understand that sometimes without inspiration and mojo, it is very hard to create. I love to look for inspirations which motivates me to create. Yesterday, I found a really interesting mood board inspiration from Jot Magazine. It is interesting because I have never worked with such colour hues before. So, I decided to give it a go. It was really a challenge, but after truly playing with it, I really love how it turns out.

Here is the mood board.

I did a card and a layout. Here my take :
It is hard to photograph a rather white and bright coloured background... I bought some gelatos from Faber Castell a while back (a year or so), I finally had the chance to play with it and I think I am officially HOOKED. It was so fun and easy... I also did some fussy cutting for the feather. Paper was from Felicity Jane. Finally, a simple title rub ons from Crate Paper - Note & Things. It is a really plain and simple layout...

Who still uses stickles? Eek, I used them on hand cut feathers and it was so pretty!
Shimmer & shine. Stamped sentiments from Felicity Jane :)

Dance in the Rain

Have you ever felt that way, when you felt all alone in a very big and complex world? that every step you take seems so heavy you can't move forward? Yet, we try to keep these sadness all bottled up and convince ourselves to smile and move forward.

This is what inspired my next layout. To remind myself to constantly laugh and smile and be happy... to dance even though it rains. Life maybe a difficult journey, but I have learnt to stand up each time I fall. Love this picture of my son and I. He is the reason I keep fighting on.

Materials used :
Chloe Kit from Felicity Jane.

Oh! Do check out their Christmas Kit! It's absolutely gorgeous... Do grab them before it gets sold out.

Oh Lemons!

First Layout since I got home. These photos of my son came up on my feed few days ago and i knew I had to scrap them as they are my favourite photos of him growing up. His first time tasting a lemon!

Using only Materials from Felicity Jane Kits. Playing with papers and layering them was so much fun! With very minimal embellishments, this is what I created... Simple. Love the Puffy Alphas from Pink Fresh which came with one of the kits.

Happy Life - Felicity Jane Kit

Hi, I am back. 3rd post for 2016. I am on a roll... Here I created a layout with a mix of Felicity Jane's May & April kits & the frame is from one of my favorite manufacturers, Crate Paper. Only after I finished the layout that I only realised that this picture of my son was coincidentally very similar to myself in Krakow from the previous layout I made. :D

For this layout, I used some printables from Felicity Jane which comes with the kit subscription. I love the heart that says "love". Note-to-self kit also came with Heidi Swap's Color Shine in Gold... which was used for the ink splatters. Pattern Papers are mainly from both Chloe & Note To Self kits.

First layout of 2016 - NSD Sketch

Finally, after a year of hiatus, I gathered my courage to start scrapbooking again. I decided to take the plunge and subscribed to Felicity Jane scrapbooking kits. It was the best decision thus far. I now look forward to receiving a kit each month and playing with them. This is actually my first time subscribing to a kit club. I am still struggling a bit to get my mojo back but here is my take for a NSD challenge sketch by our talented Jessy Christopher :)

I love love love the soft tone of this layout and yet some bold statements with black and white patterned papers. I am still very much in love with gold accents and butterfly!

First halloween Layout

This is my very first halloween layout. We don't exactly celebrate Halloween in Malaysia. Recently there are more people dressing up for the occasion. Last week, we showed Lucas what a Jack-o-lantern looks like when we came across one while cafe hopping. He was a good spot posing with the lantern for us. :) So, I came out with this layout. Been wanting to do a black & white layout for sometime now. Never had the chance. So here's what I did. And oh, Happy Halloween to you if you are celebrating...

Supplies :
Maggie Holmes Styleboard 6x6 Pattern Paper Pad
Crate Paper Portrait 6x6 Paper Pad
Amy Tangerine's Plus One Pattern Paper.
Black & White Cardstock.

Working with My Mind's Eye

Finally, I'm using one of my favourite patterned papers from MME - Lost & Found 2 collection (*which I have been hoarding). I did a layout for my cousin using a picture of her mum when she was a teenager. Over all, I used mostly MME products. I have also added some embellishments from Maggie Holmes. It took me only 15 mins to put together this layout.

Next up, is some Project Life spreads I did for May, June & July. Still lots of catching up to do but I'm almost there :D Definitely enjoying the process although I am very much behind. Just took some snapshots of the spreads I have completed.

Inspired by...

They say inspirations can come from anywhere. Somedays it's the colours I see, sometimes it's a pattern I observe. Today, I would like to share a layout which I did which was inspired by Studio Calico's Main Page. I scraplift the sketch and use some of the elements which inspires me from the page...

Here's my take!

Inspired by Challenge by Mei Li Paperie

Sorry for the delayed post. It has been a hectic week as DH met with a bicycle accident and had to be admitted to the hospital for surgery. He's now back home after a week at the hospital and recovering. Hopefully, all will be well soon :)

Without further adieu, let's talk about the new challenge which is still ongoing at Mei Li Paperie. The challenge is simple. How am I inspired by this picture to create my project.

I did a layout using pictures from my travel adventures around the world. I was inspired by the colours in the image so I used grey & bright colours like red, yellow & blue in both my photos & embellishments. I used multiple photos on my layout as it reminds me of the hanging gondolas on the ferris wheel. Heidi Swapp Magic Chipboard alphas were the perfect addition to represent the lights on the ferris wheel and I inked these with gold ink. I also love the chipboard stickers from Pink Paislee Hello Sunshine Collection.

Find the picture inspiring the creative mojo in you? Find out how HERE & submit your creations by May 30th and stand a chance to win a Heidi Swapp Prize Pack!

Mei Li Paperie's Color Challenge

It's 3rd of May & it's National scrapbook Day in the US. Happy (Inter)National Scrapbook Day to all fellow scrapbookers out there! I'm so happy & inspired to see so many talented scrapbookers posting amazing scrapbook layouts on Facebook & Instagram! Most of them really Wow-ed me.

Do you scrapbook or do any form of memory keeping? To be able to create, design & record memories at the same time is truly a blessing for me. I'm really loving every moment of it. I hope I could continue doing this for a very long time... :) Sometimes while creating, I do love to check out for challenges to inspire me. If you are looking for something inspiring to work with, do check out the Color Challenge that Mei Li Paperie is hosting this month.

I totally love the colour pallete that they have chosen!
For this challenge, I made a layout which is more graphic than my usual style. Using papers from Dear Lizzy's lucky charm collection as well as Amy tangerine's Yes Please collection.

Do join in the fun & you could stand a chance to win a wonderful prize too... More deets on how to enter the challenge here.
