Mini Proposal Album

Last month, a friend approached me and asked if I could help him design a mini album which he can use for his proposal. I took up the challenge & this is what I did… :) (Note : Pictures are blurred as per requested by my friend due to privacy purposes). At the very end of the album, there's an envelope with a card that says "Will you Marry Me?" & the ring is tied to the ribbon provided. He did some journalling on some of the blank areas provided but it's not captured here :D
I'm happy to know that his proposal was successful & his soon-to-be wife really loved the album…

2013 in Review

Dear readers, how have you been? As the year is coming to an end, work & events are piling up, my calendar is filled up almost to the brink! Such joy… :) Have you been naughty or nice? I'm a little slow in blogging but I have not forgotten this blog. As I am blogging with christmas songs in the background, I would like to close the year to blog about the year;  rewinding back & reflecting on the good times & bad times, happy times & sad times, about the people we journey along with.
2013 is indeed a very unique year. It is filled with joy and unexpected sorrows. It was a year of Friends losing friends, friends losing siblings... I pray hard that those who are trying to move on, will find peace and let go of those who have left.  A sweet girl and a dear friend of my sister was one of the people I will remember. Though a life is lost, memories of her still remains.

I have also learned very much about HOPE & FAITH, experiencing how fragile life can be first hand & how life can just change it's course, at any single time. I've learned to live life to the fullest & appreciate everyday spent with loved ones. Life is indeed UNPREDICTABLE. How insignificant our little rants are compared to others who are fighting to live on & move on. I pray that my mum & my aunt both find strength & hope to continue fighting on.

I now learned to rant less… (not that I have anyone to rant to… :) but as long as I give it my all whole heartedly, I believe the reward is just around the corner, work more, complain less…). This year, I have been blessed with great opportunities to improve and grow in my passion & career. Though I'm still taking baby steps but I remain hopeful that all things will fall into place.

Although, financially, this year has been a tad challenging for me, I'm grateful that Lucas & I are blessed with lucky stars throughout the year. This year, by far, must have been the year for most won giveaways & challenges as well being featured. How awesome is that ?! So despite all the sad things that happened, there are also the good things I look forward to :)

Last but not least, we would like to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year! May the new year brings you new hope, new joy & new adventures… xoxo, yours truly.

Tutorial : Creating your own project life card with Stamps

One morning last month, I woke to a Facebook post that says "The lucky random winner is… Josie Teh" Boy, did I jumped up from my bed! Yeay I won a giveaway from Kellie Stamps! Swoon. I have been waiting all week to use this pretty baby… :P

Here's what I did with it & I'm going to share it with you how I did it.

First, I trimmed a Bazzil Walnut Cream Cardstock into 4" x 6". Smooth card stocks tend to work better for stamping.

Next, I used Black embossing powder & heat embossed the Stamped sentiment.

I continue to stamp and filled up the whole paper with grey ink just like the picture below. I used a lighter ink to make the embossed sentiment more prominent.

I still find the stamped sentiment too dark. So, I used some white ink & I started dabbing all over the card.
The sentiments looks faded after applying white ink all over, just the way I wanted it.

To create the star, I used Studio Calico's Mistables. I used a dew drop in Galaxy gold color to apply the ink on to the Star.
Then, I applied some glitter using my favourite stickles (diamond)
 The result ...
I embellished the card with a journal tag, some stickers & a picture, we are all set.
The PL card is now ready :)

Have fun! :)

Working with MME Chalk Studio

Last night, I tried to work out of my comfort zone using a dark background, one large photo & only one piece of patterned paper. Using my favourite brands mostly My Mind's Eye & some embellishments from Crate Paper, I managed to put together a Layout for my Wedding photo… :) More gold splatters from Heidi swap Color shine - Gold (my current fav). Hope you like it!

Thanks for looking!

Christmas around the corner...

The little one hasn't been feeling well for the last two days. While, I'm busy getting ready for the market in 2 weeks time, tension is starting to build up at home. Everything is out of place... laundry is piling up, rooms are messy... baby is squeling *_* bah! Hate that feeling. Anyways, despite all the clutter & chaos, I manage to quickly pull off two cards to be sold in the market. Alright! Got to run! Thank you for looking (& hearing me rant) feels better now... off to clear the mess, first.

Project Life - June & Beginning of July

So, I've finally managed to crawl back in action for my Project life~! Yeay! I'm actually in love with how the pages are getting better each time, with better workflow too. Although, I'm not diligently creating my PL pages by week, I'm actually doing it by month now, which is so much more flexible as I go along. Really happy to be able to document life as it goes. Also, managed to convert both my Sister In Laws into project lifers :D WOOT! I'm still a about 2-3 months behind... but I'm glad that I'm still progressing. It's actually no that overwhelming if I don't stress so much on following "how" or "what" it should be. I guess alot of people get so caught up with how everyone else is doing it & get so overwhelmed.

On the spread above, I used some of Pink Paislee sentiment series goodies which I won from a IG giveaway... yeah!

Something Old, Something New

Just a few days ago, I sold off my Instax mini 7s. It was still in very good condition but I need to make way for a new toy...

the Instax Mini 90!

First shot I took was of Lucas (haha, wasn't hard to guess)

Remember the work in progress earlier, I manage to complete it :) This is dedicated to Cindy. Hope she will like it when she receives it! Lots of stuffs from our favourite Crate Paper... Also some from Dear Lizzy collections & my favourite thickers from Amy Tangerine.
The very first time I'm using Heidi Swapp's Color Shine - Gold... I think I'm falling in love with it.
Love the shimmer. Well the picture doesn't do the shimmer justice though...
